Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk : Black : Rejuvenation Detail

We're correcting some of the issues on this new vehicle, but not all.  The car will be covered in company livery soon and the idea was to reduce the wasted budget fixing minor marks on the paint and spend it where it counts.

We've got your standard etching (watermarking) that almost every new car has now (why?), they are fortunately very minor and we've got your etching combined with contamination and debris as well as de-nibbing residual, scratches and marks and a couple of inclusions.  Every panel covered in the usual crap that shouldn't be on a flagship product that retails for well over $100K :(

Step one, get the thing clean.  A quick check in the engine bay shows us that it needs a little attention there.

Engine bay first, always.  We refuse to detail engine bays, but on new cars we will do a minor clean.  She comes up well of course...

Next, wheels and then the body wash, we pull out a Curvy lady, Paint Pampering Body Shampoo and get to work.

Wash-Mitt

We use our proven zero bucket method to rid all dirt and grime without marking the soft black surface. The trick here is to do without a bucket.  Using buckets are for amateurs (or those stuck in the 90's) and we prefer not to dunk our mitts into a bucket of filth, instead, we rinse our mitts out regularly with fresh high pressure water.  Rinsing your mitts this way showers them with fresh water so they become clean, bathing them in a bucket of their own filth will never clean them completely.  The result?  A mitt with debris in it and swirling as a result of rubbing those particles around your paint.

Curvy Lady Rinse

First, the interior is cleaned (vacuum, clean plastics and internal glass) and we move the beast into #TheCleanroom where we hit it with The Eraser, on the Velvet Revolver, this removes almost all the contamination and Cleanse STRONG does the rest, this is our 2 step mechanical and chemical decontamination and proven perfect, the result is a silky smooth base.  Even though this paint will be covered by vinyl soon, we removed some of the watermarking and scratches with a light polish using a Velvet Revolver, a 135mm NanoFibre pad and CAP Heavy.

After that we want to dress the tyres and as usual, prepare them to make sure we get the best look -and no slinging.

After that a quick clean of the wheels with Paint Cleanse where any tyre dressing over-spray may have landed and we begin the FMJPP (Full Metal Jacket Paint Protection).

As usual, all paint, all glass, headlights, tail lights, badges, uncoated plastics, wheels -everything bar the tyres are coated in FMJPP:

Bespoke Imaging do their shoot and the customer collects his silky smooth, black than black thumping beauty.
